Surgivet Enviro-Pure Anaesthetic Waste Gas Canister
CONXXX
The SurgiVet Enviro-Pure activated charcoal canister is designed to be used where waste gas scavenging is needed within veterinary environments. It contains activated charcoal which absorbs anaesthetic agents such as isoflurane and other waste gases. It will absorb around 100g of anaesthetic gas until it is saturated.
How does it work:Activated Charcoal Canisters are used to help remove waste anaesthetic gases by a passive system. This passive method relies on the flow from an anaesthesia machine and the anesthetised animal's exhalation volume to push the waste anaesthetic into the charcoal canister. Simply connect your scavenge tubing to the top of the canister. The charcoal inside the canister will absorb the exhaled anaesthetic gases. You will need to weigh the canister when it arrives, and then regularly weigh it once in use to monitor the increase in weight (recommend writing this on the side, with the date weighed).
How long does it last:This depends on how many surgeries you are typically doing, a higher fresh gas flow rate and the size of the patient can both contribute to how quickly a canister reaches the recommended weight increase. The Canister can absorb up to 100g of anaesthetic waste, and should be disposed of once it has absorbed 100g of exhaled gas (not refillable).
