BioMedtrix I-Loc 7mm Nail Kit
34-07
BioMedtrix?? introduced the I-Loc IM Fixator 6-7-8 system in 2009 and the 3-4-5 system for small breed dogs and cats in 2018. Primarily, interlocking nails are metallic implants used for the repair of traumatic long bone fractures. They consist of a large diameter rod, inserted into a bone medullary cavity and secured to it with locking bolts going from one cortex to another and capturing the nail inside the medullary cavity. Thanks to its unique locking technology, the I-Loc can be used in a variety of fracture configurations including metaphyseal and periarticular fractures. The implant is designed to prevent post-operative instability through an innovative mechanical interlock between the nail and the bolts, which allows for immediate weight bearing activity.Interlocking nails may also be used to stabilize corrective osteotomy such as those performed in cases of medial patellar luxation secondary to severe femoral varus deformity.
Implant SystemOne ( 1) Nail and four (4) self-centering locking Bolts are packaged together and sold sterile. Implants are inventoried by set rather than a complete array of individually sized Nails and Bolts. The Nail???s bullet-nose and hourglass geometries ease insertion without violating the distal joint and promote faster healing and revascularization of the medullary cavity.
Instrument SystemEach of the 6-7-8 and 3-4-5 instrument systems are designed to specifically accommodate their respective implant sets. Instruments are color-coded and arranged in sequence of use for preparation simplicity.
